If you are inquiring about a booking a newborn session, first let me congratulate you! This is such an exciting and important time to document. The first weeks of your baby's life can be such a whirlwind and they change and grow so quickly. It is so important to document this special time. Newborn sessions are my absolute favorite,  I am so happy you are choosing me to capture this time in your life!

Q:  When should I schedule my Newborn Session?
A:  The earlier the better! It is crucial to schedule your session when baby is 4-14 days old. This is when we can capture those sleepy, curled up images we all love. I will write your due date in my book which holds a spot for you when you deliver.  You or a family member will email me as soon as you get home from the hospital or before. We will schedule your session within a week.

Q: How long will my session last?
A: Most newborn sessions last between 2 to 3 hours.

Q:  Where will my session take place?
A:  In the comfort of your home! I will come to you and bring everything needed for your session.  I will set up in the nursery or another small room and plug in little space heater to get the room nice and warm.  There’s no need for you to worry about how much natural light you have in your home, I will bring studio lights.  I will also bring plenty of baskets, blankets, hats and bows for you look through and decide what we will use.  If there are specific props you have seen that you like just let me know...I may have something similar.

Q:  How do I prepare my newborn?
A:  Dress baby in only a loose diaper and swaddle in a blanket. Try to feed him/her 30 minutes before my arrival.  Hopefully, he/she will be sleeping soundly when I am ready to get started but if not, that’s ok!  I will follow baby’s lead throughout the session.  Anytime baby needs to eat, be changed or needs a cuddle we will simply take a break.

Q:  As the parent, what is my role during the session?
A:  I will be doing the majority of the work!  Occasionally, I will need your assistance with posing but for the most part you can just sit back, watch and relax. Baby can tell if Mom is stressed or nervous, so just relax and enjoy.

Q: Can I be included in some of the photos?
A: Of course! For an extra fee, parents or siblings can be included in the session.

Q: What should I wear?
A: It’s really up to you! The most important thing is you are comfortable.  I usually recommend light, soft, neutral colors with no busy patterns or logos.

Q: How long does it take to get my pictures?
A:  I have the images edited and in the mail to you within 2 weeks of your session. You will receive a USB with fully edited, high resolution images for you to print as you please. I can also print pictures for you if you prefer.

Q:  What printers do you recommend?
A:  Online:  mpix.com
